    Kicking off 2026 with Neighbors Plus


    A new year brings fresh energy at Neighbors Plus. We are grateful for a community that continues to support and walk alongside neighbors, and we look forward to sharing what’s ahead and how you can stay connected in the year to come.

     



    Ministry Highlights


    • NP Market: Over 40 families visited the NP Market in December to shop for food and household items.

    • After School Recess: Students this year are focusing on the theme, “What Echoes Do We Make?” It has been a great way for them to reflect on what kind of “echo” they want to leave in different areas of their lives.

    • Hope Store: 47 families (totaling 165 children) were registered and shopped for at the Hope Store on December 6th. We are thankful for the 26 volunteers who made the morning remarkable.

    • Alternative Suspension Program: Students continue to focus on academics, participate in weekly service projects, and receive behavior mentoring.

    • Study Hub: Continues to be a resource for virtual students seeking in-person academic support and small group socialization.

    • After School Tutoring: Happy to continue supporting West Ottawa Public Schools, as assistants to teachers leading after school group tutoring sessions, four days per week.

    I am honored to step into the role of Executive Director of Neighbors Plus, an organization rooted in the belief that we are better together and called to walk alongside our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and hope.



    Harderwyk has been home to me for many years and has played a significant role in shaping my faith and understanding of what it means to love our neighbors in practical, transformative ways. Because of that foundation, I am grateful and humbled to now serve Neighbors Plus in this role and to partner with so many who share this calling.

    Registration Open for 2026 Park2Park Race




    Registration is now open for the 2026 Gentex Park2Park Race on Saturday, September 26. The event includes a half marathon and a 5K, taking place along Holland’s lakeshore route. Visit the race website to learn more and register. We hope you will join us!
