English as a Second Language
Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) education focuses on language learners (high beginner to low advanced) who want to practice spoken and written English in a variety of situations. Students will practice in a relaxed setting by interacting with native speakers and each other. The class is free, with free childcare offered for children between the ages of 4-12.
Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m., in the Harbor Lights Middle School library, 1024 136th Avenue. Classes follow the West Ottawa School district calendar. Classes are cancelled when there are school closings for weather, conferences, vacations, and special events. Class registration is completed the first night you attend class. All instruction is in English and speakers of all languages are welcome!
