Great Escape Summer Camp: Job Opportunities + Volunteer Opportunities
Please check back in January 2024 as we begin hiring for Summer 2024!
Neighbors Plus hires college-aged counselors to plan and lead activities with 5-12 year old campers for the Great Escape Summer Day Camp (campers must be going into Kindergarten - 7th grade for the upcoming school year). Candidates should be outgoing, love children, and have experience leading kids. Counselor shifts vary between 7:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends. Our camp site is located at Harderwyk Ministries (1627 W. Lakewood Blvd. on the north side of Holland). We do ask candidates to join us for one week of paid training prior to the start of camp.
A limited number of positions are available to high school juniors, seniors, and graduates as Assistant Counselors during camp, assisting the college counselors in planning and implementing summer activities. Assistant counselor shifts vary between 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, also beginning June 10, with the week of training prior to camp (we are able to work around your year-end school schedule for training).
Volunteer Junior Counselors are recruited to work with one age group for one week of camp during the summer. Volunteer Junior Counselors must be entering 9th grade or older, be 14 years-old, have experience with children, and attend training prior to volunteering.
